Installation and security

PressGlance is a single program that runs on your own Windows PC or server. No cloud, no account with us, no software on the printers. A wizard guides you through the first start.

What you need

A Windows PC or server

Always on, and on the same network as your printers.

Network access to your printers

PressGlance reads the status straight from the printers over your network. The wizard tests the connection right away.

Optional: your PDF share

Read access to the network folder with your source PDFs, for real page totals.

A browser

On any PC, tablet or TV on your network. Nothing needs to be installed.

One program, as a Windows service

You get a single executable. With one command, PressGlance installs itself as a Windows service: it starts with the server and keeps running, even when nobody is logged in.

pressglance.exe install

A wizard on first start

On first start, you open PressGlance in the browser on the server itself. In a few steps, the wizard takes you to a working dashboard.

  1. LanguageChoose English, French, German or Dutch.
  2. PasswordSet the administrator password.
  3. LicencePaste your licence key. No internet needed.
  4. PrinterName and IP address, with a connection test.
  5. DoneThe dashboard is live.

Your data stays with you

PressGlance runs entirely within your own network. What your printers do never leaves the building.

Local database

All history is stored in an SQLite database on your own server. You can download a backup with one click.

Offline licence

The licence is tied to your server and works without an internet connection. Nothing is sent back to us.

Management behind a password

Jobs, statistics, printers and settings require a login. Only the live dashboard can, if you want, stay open for a wall-mounted screen.

Secrets encrypted

The password for your network share is stored encrypted using Windows' built-in protection. The initial setup can only be done on the server itself.
